From May 10-18, customers received a treasure chest key with every purchase at participating Bergenfield stores, restaurants and salons. All key holders were then given the opportunity to try to open the treasure chest, full of over $1,000 in prizes with the keys they had accumulated. Due to unfortunate weather conditions, the event was moved indoors to Main Fashion Optical, located at 1 North Washington Avenue.
”This event really got our residents shopping at new places, trying to collect as many keys as they could,” said Mayor Schmelz. “The kids were really excited about trying to open the treasure chest full of Bergenfield treasure.”
There were a significant amount of donations made from Bergenfield businesses to fill the treasure chest with over $1,000 worth of prizes. Among the donations were five $100 Visa gift cards courtesy of Dello Russo LaserVision and over 40 gift certificates for dining, shopping and services throughout Bergenfield.
